This week we continue with our sermon series on the Ten Commandments. This sermon is entitled “Thunder from Sinai: for what are we anxious”, and the texts for the sermon are Exodus 20:1-15 and Luke 12:22-34.

One of the best and clearest guides that God has given for us to be in right relationship with Him and with each other is found in the ten words that God spoke to Moses on Mount Sinai, known to us as the Ten Commandments. Throughout this series, we will learn that the Ten Commandments are not a divine finger-wagging from an angry and wrathful God. Instead, the Ten Commandments are a gracious and loving invitation into God’s way of protecting and enhancing true freedom – freedom from those things that keep us from God, so that we are free for right relationship with God and with each other.
